History

The Choparski variety is historically linked to the old garlic lines of the Polish and Balkan regions. The name most likely comes from the Polish word "Chopar" or the name of the region where the variety was selected or distributed by local farmers.

It was previously praised as:

  • a hardy winter variety,

  • suitable for poor soils,

  • with a strong, culinary valuable flavor.

In recent years, Choparski has returned to circulation as a niche variety chosen by organic farmers and specialized garlic growers.

Variety type
