Winter garlic "PRECOSEM"
Allium sativum var ophioscorodon
Precosem is an early, very uniform and productive winter hardneck garlic variety, characterized by large white heads, high-quality cloves, and stable growth intensity even in challenging climatic conditions. The variety is known for its high winter hardiness, good disease resistance, and excellent ability to adapt to different soil types.
Precosem is popular both in small gardens and in professional production, as it forms very neat, uniform heads with an intense but not overly sharp flavor.
History
The Precosem variety originated in Central European breeding, where early winter varieties were especially important due to short vegetation periods. The name “Precosem” comes from “precoce” — early, which describes its rapid development cycle.
The variety spread in Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Belgium, where growers appreciated its early maturity and resistance to unstable weather conditions. Nowadays, Precosem has also become popular in Scandinavia and the Baltics.
